Speedo Aquashot Waterproof Camera

I currently own 2 digital cameras, but I'm dying for a 3rd to add to the collection.  It'd just be so nice to have a camera that can handle going anywhere that I can.  Frankly, I really shouldn't have fragile devices on me most of the time, because I tend to be rough on them.  Wouldn't it be nice to go for a swim and be able to take your camera with you?  Well thankfully Speedo has a camera meant just for the water lovers out there.

Casio EXILIM EX-H20G Hybrid GPS Digital Camera

Casio scores another world's first with the EXILIM EX-H20G Hybrid GPS digital camera, making it the ideal traveling companion. Why do we say so? Well, the integrated Hybrid GPS system will deliver ultra-precise location data for the geotagging of photos and videos. Sounds normal, but you would be stoked to know that this is also the first camera that is able to geotag indoors. Yup, we've said it – you can even go into your home without missing a beat, snapping away happily while having those images tagged. Apart from that, you can also view your location on the camera itself thanks to a pre-loaded map on the EX-H20G.

Flip updates the UltraHD and MinoHD video cameras

Since Photokina, the world's leading trade fair for digital photography and creative imaging, is in full swing now, I have hearing about new cameras right and left. Cisco Systems is no exception as they have updated the UltraHD and MinoHD camera series.

Samsung ready to rock with new NX100 digital camera

Samsung has shifted another gear up where Micro Four Thirds cameras are concerned, with the Samsung NX100 being the latest in their family to deliver an innovative mirrorless camera optin alongside the world's first i-Function lens, letting you optain the ability to shoot a perfect photo without sacrificing on ease-of-use and controls. Samsung hopes that their NX100 will be able to dominate the new mirrorless camera category in due time, where it will take over from where the NX10 left off. For those who are not in the know, the NX10 is Samsung's first mirrorless camera and the first in the world to feature an APS-C size sensor. Among the technology found in the new NX100 include a similar APS-C size sensor, a 3-inch AMOLED screen for easy and clear viewing, the aforementioend intuitive i-Function lens, and one of the fastest autofocus on the market today to make sure you are there to capture all moments, any time of the day.

Cardboard Camera Recreations

We've grown used to our polished gadgets with plastic and metal casings.  Yet, one man enjoys making his cameras out of something entirely different.  Instead of hard metal pressed up against your eye, he's making fully functioning cardboard cameras.  It's be a bit of a change from the usual, but you'd definitely stand out from the crowd.

DSLR turned into pinhole camera

Any photography lover can't help but have a little bit of an appreciation for pinhole camera photography.  Now that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone wants to own yet another camera in order to achieve the look.  If you do want to pick up that style, now it could be as simple as switching out your lens cap thanks to these SLR Pinhole Body Caps.

Samsung has new firmware for NX10 camera

Samsung isn't famous yet when it comes to digital cameras, but that doesn't mean the South Korean consumer electronics giant isn't trying its level best to break into the market. Their NX10 mirrorless camera was a pretty good start compared to its range of entry level consumer digital cameras, and we're stoked to see the company announce the availability of a firmware upgrade for the NX10, bumping up the version to 1.20. Just what does firmware upgrade 1.20 bring to the table? For starters, we are looking at compatibility with Samsung's innovative new i-Function lens technology, providing photographers as well as avid shutterbugs with an avenue to control the camera easily via the lens itself. More on this magical experience in the extended post.

Panasonic announces Lumix DMC-GF2

Panasonic has announced the successor to one of the highly sought after Micro Four Thirds shooter to date known as the Lumix DMC-GF1, which is the logically named Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2. This compact mirrorless camera is also Panasonic's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens system camera, where it will feature a built-in flash to boot.

The Lumix GF2 will play nice with lenses from the Micro Four Thirds standard, which means the system is not only small but compact, and yet will not compromise ease of operation or image quality. Not only that, the Lumix GF2 will also be able to work with Panasonic's new 3D interchangeable lens, which is the LUMIX G 12.5mm/F12, letting you snap 3D photos without missing a beat.

Canon Cross Media Station can charge cameras and download photos

What you are seeing here is Canon's Cross Media Station. It is technology that is probably years before public release, but it does some pretty amazing things.

To start, it is a wireless charger for a camera. I have seen wireless charging stations like the Powermat and Wildcharger before, and this thing has an indicator to show when your Canon camera has the correct amount of juice.

Another feature is its ability to sort out pictures on an HDTV. You can see in the video after the jump a spokesperson placing a camera on the station itself, and getting a patchwork quilt of pictures.

Hands on with the DXG-A85V Pro Gear Camera

I had a chance to review the DXG-A80V a few months ago, and I was fortunate to review what looks to be the follow-up, the DXG-A85V.

The cameras certainly look alike, and they are both 1080p video-capable with a 3 inch Touchscreen display. One of the upgrades is that the DXG-A85V has a 12X Optical Zoom instead of the 5X that the A80V has. Both are capable of 1080p at 30fps (frames per second), but the A80V can do 1080i in 60fps, while the A85V can do 720p at that 60 frame rate.

This Concept camera and screen is a little questionable

You might be wondering what this photo to your left is supposed to show. Let's just say that I had another from my Source, but I found it a little too…what's the word I'm looking for…creepy.

In fact, the basic concept behind this concept camera is pretty creepy, to say the least. If you don't believe me, just watch the video after the jump. I'll go ahead and post the other photo too, in case you are really curious.

In this video, you will see someone with a 70x zoom lens stare at people down below, and the image is put on a screen. Then the user touches the people on the screen, and it just feels creepy to me. Maybe I am biased.

My Review of the 3M Shoot and Share Camera Projector

The Shoot and Share by 3M is a combination of the currently popular brand of "candybar" design cameras like the Flip and a pico-projector.

These two come together to make a product that allows the user to snap a 5 Megapixel picture or shoot a 720p (1280 x 720) video, and then immediately project it on a big screen. Any blank wall will do, and the image can be as large as 65 inches on its diagonal.

The Shoot and Share is powered by a USB that also allows for easy downloading to a computer. It is capable of about 20 hours worth of video, which is about 32GB.

Rollei to offer 3D digital camera

Do you love how stereoscopic 3D technology has changed the way the consumer electronics scene worked this year? Perhaps you're sick of listening to arguments on which 3D viewing technology is best, and just want to get on with your life, but one thing's for sure – 3D is here to say, and it isn't going to go away anytime soon. Rollei too, wants to have a say in the world of stereoscopic 3D, and they are certainly not pulling any stops with their latest digital camera, the Power Flex 3D. Of course, that will be accompanied by a digital picture frame as well that does 3D, bringing a complete feast for your eyes. Rollei's new 3-D devices are equipped with the special Parallax barrier display technology, which allows you to view 3D images and videos without the need to wear a dorky looking pair of glasses – now how about that?

Samsung WB700 camera offers superb features in a small package

Samsung is really picking up the pace when it comes to the world of digital cameras, and one of their latest releases would be the WB700, a super slim model that certainly doesn't horse around with its impressive 24X zoom function, making it more than capable of delivering superb quality images regardless of the distance of your subject. This is further enhance with the ability for the WB700 to capture 16 megapixel images with its 24mm lens with OIS and Schneider KREUZNACH 18x super-zoom. Apart from that, other features which will delight and surprise even those who are seasoned in the field of photography include new smart filters, the smart lens effect and zoom noise cancellation. Want to know more about the WB700? It is all in the extended post.

Prime-8 Action Gorilla from I Love Robots

I had a chance to try out the Prime-8 Action Gorilla toy from I Love Robots, and I can honestly say that I like this one.

I'm not going to say love, as it is too strong of a word. I think I am a little too old to appreciate this toy, but adults will find it enjoyable. The Prime-8 is a toy robot that is shaped like a ball-shaped ape, and travels by way of arms on its sides. It can also stand up by means of retractable legs.

The remote control for this guy has a lot more buttons than most remote control toys. Besides sending the Prime-8 in the right or left direction, the user can shoot plastic rockets thanks to its detachable launchers. He or she can also make it Go Bananas, growl, and play games.

R/C Micro Metal Gyro Copter

Don't you just love the wonders of miniaturization? That's what we have with the R/C Micro Metal Gyro Copter, where this unique little device ought to give you plenty of flying fun as your driveway is covered with snow, meaning you're stuck at home all day long. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, really, since ThinkGeek's latest $24.99 toy will help you spend your time irritating your other half with frequent buzzing around her in the kitchen. Be careful though, she might be tempted to just end your little piloting project by giving the R/C Micro Metal Gyro Copter a nice, hard whack with a fly swatter as she's doing her best to prepare a sumptuous dinner. This uniquely tiny copter sports a metal alloy-body, 3-channel control and a built-in gyro, now how about that? The inclusion of the gyro helps it to stay locked in the direction it is facing, and offers a much more precise movement in the air unlike other R/C copters. It takes 10 minutes of charging time to have this be a pest for five minutes – diminishing returns, yes, but its small size more than makes up for it.

Robotic Velociraptor – Steven Spielberg gets no royalties

Remember when you first watched Jurassic Park in the theatres, and was mesmerized at how Steven Spielberg held everything together without that much CGI compared to today? Well, the velociraptor certainly brought chills down my spine, which would make me approach this Robotic Velociraptor with a little bit of apprehension. At least I can always kick this around if it ever goes violent on me, since it is a whole lot smaller compared to the real deal. In the velociraptor's snout lies an infrared sensor which enables it to detect movement or objects. The moment it is locked onto its "prey," the dinosaur will then charge forward with feral howls and dervish-like spins. Should you choose to close its jaws by hand, it will remain tames but for a while, and if held closed for too long, it will start to whimper angrily. Want to enrage it like the Hulk? Just double-clicking its jaws and you will see tooth-filled jaws make a menace of itself. Powered by a quartet of AA and a trio of AAA batteries, the Robotic Velociraptor would make for a decent Christmas present for $49.95.

Hands on with the Anti-Gravity Web Runner from Fantasma Toys

I was fortunate enough to have Fantasma Toys send me the Anti-Gravity Web Runner, but I want to make certain that my wife and kids knew I had it.

Why? Have you ever seen a spider scurry across your floors, walls, or ceilings? Now imagine that spider about 10 times its normal size. I would hate to have my wife or kids have a panic attack at the sight of the big arachnid that you see in the photo.

The Web Runner is a remote control spider that can not only go across the floor, but up the walls and even on the ceiling with 360 degrees of motion. It does so with its own patented air suction technology. Its legs will move in a creepy way, and its eyes glow an eerie red.

Funrise Tonka Lights and Sound Vehicle - Fire Engine

Help is on the way with the Tonka Light n Sound Fire Engine. Vehicle has great light n sound action Packed in a try me package.

Did you know that "Tonka" means "great" in Sioux? It's no surprise considering just how long this great, reliable brand of toy trucks has been around! In 1947, the first Tonka brand toy trucks were actually designed and manufactured by the Mound Metalcraft Company, a small garden toll manufacturer operating from a small schoolhouse basement in Minnesota. In their first year of operation, a staff of only a half dozen people produced a total of 37,000 metal trucks with two designs. This inventory sold out in just a few months as many post-World War II families quickly accepted this new toy. As a result, in 1949, the first Tonka dump truck was introduced launching the first generation of the Tonka brand's family tree. Today, the Tonka brand upholds the same premise it was
